What Is the Cheapest Gym with a Sauna?

The cheapest gyms with a sauna, pool, hot tub, or steam room are:

  • Crunch
  • EōS Fitness
  • Gold’s Gym
  • YMCA

Typically, the monthly membership in some of these gyms starts from $9.99 per month, but keep in mind that the cheapest membership option doesn’t usually give you access to saunas, pools, and hot tubs.

Instead, you’ll have to opt for the premium plans. The cheapest plans with access to saunas, based on my research, are EōS, YMCA, and Crunch.

The monthly membership prices don’t include yearly fees, initiation fees, or membership maintenance fees, which can add an extra $50-$100 per year to your plan. I know, hidden fees are annoying, but gyms are notorious for doing this.

What Is the Best Gym with a Sauna?

There is no exact definition for what is the “best gym” with a sauna.

Does it mean the cheapest? Does it mean the gym with the most equipment and amenities? Does it mean the most luxurious facilities?

I already covered the cheapest options in the chapter above.

As for the most luxurious gyms with saunas, spa, pools and hot tub, the winners in this category are Equinox and Lifetime.

Those two gym brands are the best-known luxury gym chains with a wide range of amenities from state-of-the-art machines and equipment to different types of saunas and steam rooms, pools, and even a spa on site.

With extra amenities comes an extra price, however. A membership at Equinox or Lifetime varies between locations, but typical prices start from $150 to $300 PER MONTH. And don’t forget to add initiation fees on top of that, which at some Lifetime locations be up to $300!

How Do I Find a Gym with a Sauna Near Me?

Amenities between gym location may vary, even though the gym chain lists sauna, pool, hot tub, or steam room as amenities on their website.

Based on my experience, saunas and pools are often mysteriously closed or in maintenance for months at a time. Or in some cases, those facilities are dirty and poorly maintained. After a certain virus spread in 2020, many gyms also temporarily closed their saunas or other facilities and have yet to open them again.

For those reasons, it’s important to do some research before signing up at a gym in hopes of getting to use their sauna or pool.

My favorite way to find gyms with saunas near me is to use Google Maps.

Here’s how to find the best gyms with saunas near you using Google Maps:

  1. Click hereOpens in a new tab. to directly open a search with all the gyms with saunas near you!
  2. If the map is not loading correctly, type “Gym with a sauna” in the search bar or zoom in the map to your city
  3. If you zoom in or change cities, remember to click on the “Search This Area” button that should appear at the top of the screen
find gym with a sauna near me
  4. Filter the reviews for gyms around your area by typing “sauna” or “pool” in the review search. This may be helpful to see if the sauna or pool at this location is maintained well and if others gave it great reviews. Here’s an example of a bad review that would discourage me from signing up at this location:
    gyms with saunas

This is not a fool-proof method, so you should sign up for a free trial at a couple of different gyms around your area to see which is the best fit for you.

I hope this helps! Let me know in the comments if you have more tips for finding a gym with a sauna near you more easily.

Many popular gyms don’t have luxury amenities such as saunas, pools, or hot tubs.

Planet Fitness

Planet Fitness is a gym chain that offers a wide range of fitness equipment and classes at affordable prices.

However, it’s worth noting that the amenities offered are limited. Unlike other gyms, Planet Fitness doesn’t have saunas, pools, or hot tubs. Instead, they provide their members with a clean, spacious workout area, high-quality cardio and strength equipment, and free fitness training sessions. The gym also offers a massage chair, tanning beds, and hydromassage beds for post-workout relaxation.

Anytime Fitness

While Anytime Fitness is a popular gym chain with over 4,000 locations worldwide, it also lacks certain amenities such as saunas, pools, and hot tubs.

However, the gym provides members with 24/7 access to a clean, well-maintained workout area, state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, and free fitness classes. Additionally, they offer personal training services, a virtual training app, and tanning beds for relaxation after a workout. Anytime Fitness also has partnerships with various wellness and fitness companies, allowing members to access exclusive discounts and offers.

Orangetheory

Orangetheory Fitness is a popular fitness studio that offers high-intensity workouts based on heart rate training. Unlike traditional gyms, Orangetheory doesn’t have saunas, pools, or hot tubs. However, the studio provides members with a challenging and dynamic workout environment, expert coaching, and a sense of community.

With its focus on performance training and customized programming, Exos offers a unique and effective fitness experience.

Why Some Gyms Don’t Have Saunas, Hot Tubs, or Pools?

Not all gyms are created equal. Some specialize in certain services, like cross fit or powerlifting, and they don’t have the space or the resources to offer fancy amenities. If you’re looking for a place to grunt and sweat and lift heavy things, then you might not miss the lack of a sauna or a hot tub.

Extra Amenities Mean Extra Costs

On the other hand, if you’re more of a spa person, then you might want to find a gym that caters to that. There are plenty of gyms out there that offer all the bells and whistles, like saunas, hot tubs, and pools. But, of course, those amenities come at a price. If you’re on a budget, then you might have to sacrifice some of those luxuries in order to save a few bucks.

Limited Space May Be an Issue

And let’s be real, some gyms just don’t have the space for a pool or a hot tub. They might be located in a crowded urban area where real estate is at a premium. Or they might be housed in an old building with limited square footage. In those cases, the gym owners have to prioritize what’s most important and what will be most useful to their members.

Choose a Gym that Has What You Need

At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference. Some people love the idea of relaxing in a hot tub after a tough workout, while others would rather hit the showers and head home. It’s up to you to decide what kind of gym experience you want and what amenities are most important to you.

Just remember, no matter what kind of gym you choose, the most important thing is to get your sweat on and stay active!

See the table I put together with a detailed list of amenities each popular gym chain offers.

What’s your favorite gym with a sauna, pool, or other luxury amenities? Let me know in the comments, and help others choose the best gym for them.
